As a therapist, I provide a variety of services. Some are considered long-term services and some are considered short-term services. Long-term services, such as psychotherapy, can last several years, depending on the treatment goals and the client’s ability and commitment to participate in the treatment. Short-term services may include but are not limited to counseling, collaborative divorce coaching, evaluations, and consulting. Some services, such as marriage and family counseling, or parenting coordination can be either short-term or long-term.

Some specific services may require the signing of an additional agreement. Examples of these services are collaborative divorce coaching, psychological evaluations, and court-ordered services such as custody evaluations and parenting coordination.
Psychological treatment varies depending on the personalities of the therapist and client, and the particular issues the client chooses to discuss. There are many different methods I may use to deal with issues you hope to address. For the treatment to work, you will have to work on things we talk about both during and between our sessions.
Psychological treatment often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. But there are no guarantees for what you will experience or the fulfillment of your goals and expectations.
When treatment involves psychotherapy and many types of counseling, the first few sessions will involve an evaluation of your needs. By the end of your evaluation, I will be able to offer you some first impressions of what our work will include if you decide to continue in the process. You should evaluate this information along with your feeling of comfort working with me. Therapy/counseling involves a commitment of time, money, and energy, so you should be very careful about the therapist you select. If you have any questions about my procedures, we should discuss them whenever they arise. In the event, I am no longer able to provide services for you, or I have determined you would be better served by a different therapist, I will inform you of my decision and help you search for another mental health professional.
While therapy/counseling is not a guarantee of success, it offers a positive method toward a healthier and more productive life.
